The short film will take part in the 15th edition of the PJIFF next spring, according to the Iranian Youth cinema Society.
Written and directed by Babak Mostafavi, the film is about “a factory worker who suddenly decides to kill someone because he thinks a person has to pay for all his misfortunes, but he has a big problem which is that he is kind”, according to a synopsis for ‘The Pylon’.
The film is starring Mohammad-Reza Amir-Yousefi, Mostafa Shirkhani, Habibollah Mohammadi, Hamid Jalali, Nora Lak, Reza Sorour, and Esmaeel Shafei.
The PJIFF promotes “inclusion, diversity, and women empowerment”; educates people of all ages about filmmaking; and encourages everyone to “find their voice through film”, an online submission platform reads.
The 15th edition of the festival will be held on April 6-13.
